Today, the balance between organisms and artifacts has reached a critical point. According to a paper published online in Nature on December 9, 2020 (Global human-made mass exceeds all living biomass), the total mass of human-made artifacts worldwide has surpassed the total biomass of living organisms. This trend is largely driven by the use of industrial materials.
In the process of creating this work, we used industrial materials, such as pipes, as the main component to reconstruct the relationship between industry and nature. The aim is to imbue industrial artifacts with artistic life, allowing people to establish a new emotional connection with them.
You can interpret it as a set of tables and chairs, or perhaps a cat climbing frame, or even as a space installation that evokes a sense of confinement.
